My name is Sofie and I'll be your guide in the wonderful tea adventure you are about to embark on. Before we make this All Things Tea, let me tell you a little bit about myself.
In 2016 I started my journey into the world of tea and a vast world of flavours that I never imagined I would discover. As I continue my training to become a certified tea sommelier, master and blender, I feel a growing desire to share these experiences with other people. That is why I started All Things Tea, though technically it should be All Things Tea, Rooibos and Infusions (more about that at a later date!). Its purpose is to help people discover the immense universe of tea and learn more about its origins, how to use and brew it and most of all, how to enjoy it. There is so much more to it than just some dried old leaves in a muslin bag.
Everyone knows the English and Scottish breakfast and afternoon teas with many of us needing that first mug to help us get through the working day. All Things Tea is about that and everything else out there including all the surprises you will find when you dive into this magical world.
The absolute best part of my own tea adventure so far was being able to open my own brick and mortar shop here in Brampton, Cumbria last year. It's close to the Scottish boarders where one working class man brought back the closely guarded secrets from China in the 1800s to bring a tradition home to stay (more about Robert Fortune at a later date!). My little shop is located in Bonnie Prince Charlie's House (yes, another iconic Scottish figure, at least by mass adoption!), where I am now not only selling this beautiful product but where I will also start organising tea tasting classes once the Covid-19 restrictions allow for such a thing.
I hope All Things Tea will open up the same world of sensory experiences to you as it did to me because it is an amazing feeling when you find that perfect tea that tickles your nose and tongue just right, and takes you to the most beautiful places in your mind or brings back precious memories. When it not only fills your body with its warmth but its wholesomeness also replenishes your soul. I can't wait to share this journey with you all!
